Kids run the rule over Aldi

With less than three months to go until Aldi opens in Welshpool, local school kids had an opportunity to check on progress.

The new Aldi supermarket is due to open in April and received an inspection from Oldford Nursery and Infant School pupils.

The children, aged five and six, had the opportunity to ask questions on how each store is built, how the layout of a store is decided and even on what machines are used during construction.

Bryn Richards, Property Director of Aldi’s Neston Region, said: “This was a great opportunity for some local children to visit our site and find out more about how buildings are constructed, hopefully we may have inspired the architects, builders and planners of the future!”

Yvonne Naylor, Head teacher of Oldford Nursery and Infant School, said: “I’d like to thank Aldi for allowing our year one pupils to visit the site and ask questions on how a modern store is built. The children had a great time and learnt a lot.”
