It’s a story that captured the hearts of the area last year but thankfully one that we can report has a happy ending.
Sally Green was 47 when she opened up to our readers after receiving the devastating news that she had breast cancer.
That was 11 months ago, and after undergoing a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy Sally, from Leighton, has received the all clear.
Now she is giving back by updating us to raise more awareness whilst organising a coffee morning on Saturday to raise some much needed funds for Cancer UK.
“It is now 11 months since my Breast Cancer diagnosis; having undergone a mastectomy, finished Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy I’m now told I’m cancer free!” she told us. “I feel really well at the moment apart from drug related aches and pains which may continue for several years – a small price to pay compared to the alternatives.
“To give something back to Cancer UK, I’m organising a Coffee & Cake Morning on Saturday at the Corn Exchange, Welshpool from 9am-1pm.
“There will also be stalls and a raffle with lots of great prizes. Whether you know me or not, please pop in for a piece of cake and a natter. All proceeds will go to Cancer Research.”
