It was a gripping night of action in the Montgomeryshire and District Airgun League which saw Guilsfield A topple leaders Arddleen to move top.

Guilsfield used home advantage to produce a scintillating display of target shooting to win the match 210.4-203.8 with no less than four possibles recorded by Keiron Cornell (maximum 35.7), Roger Knight (35.5), Paul Phillips (35.4) and Chloe Lloyd (35.5). They were well supported by Matt and Dave Knight with scores of 34.

Arddleen themselves had two possible scores through Andy Lawrence (35.6) and Jack Francis (35.3), with Richard Lewis and Nick Parr pitching in with 34's on a superb night of action.

Churchstoke maintained their push for the title with a well-earned 206.5-198.2 home victory against Crew Green B. This leaves them two points behind the leaders but with two matches in hand, showing that the chase will go right to the wire. Jane Thomas started the pellets flying with another possible 35.3, and Owen Stimpson also shot a possible of 35.3.

Not to be outdone, Crew Green’s Adam Hilditch shot a possible of 35.4.

Castle held on to fourth with a closely contested win at Newtown 197.1-193.3, with one youth and one senior showing the way. Young Tabitha Corbett top scored for Newtown with 34.3 while senior Hywel Morgan top scored for Castle with 34.2.

Guilsfield B maintained their recent good form to use home advantage to beat a young Forden side 200.2-181.7, with Sarah Williams getting her first possible (35.2) and being ably supported by Catherine Farmer and Paul Edwards both shooting 34.2.

Crew Green A had home advantage over a depleted Llanfair and with a solid overall team performance claimed the spoils 200.6-189.4. Dave Morgan shot a possible 35.3 with great support from Nigel Kelton (34.5) and Edward Kelton (34.2).  Llanfair replied through Dai Williams (34.4) and Nick Lloyd (34.1).
