With the new Aldi and B&M (pictured) giving shoppers even less incentive to go into the town centre, the issue is set to be addressed at the Welshpool Business Forum's next meeting.
High on the agenda will be a discussion on “attracting people from the retail park to the Town Centre and vice vera” following recent concerns raised by shop keepers.
The meeting is organised by the town council and open to those with an interest in business in the town.
Updates on the new developments on the old Smithfield site will be provided while it will also be shared that a Town Guide, Tourism Maps, Events Booklet and Shopping Maps will be available this summer.
The thorny issue of the town’s recycling and fly tipping problems will be covered along with an update on what the town is doing to help those people that are visually impaired.
The meeting takes place on Monday in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall from 6pm.
