Welshpool firefighters rescued two people from a heavy goods vehicle which became stranded in floods three miles from the town.
The pair became trapped in their vehicle due to rapidly rising water levels at 3.20pm on Saturday afternoon on the A458 Llanfair Road which was later closed.
Firefighters were assisted by a local farmer and brought the two people back to dry land unharmed.
Meanwhile, high winds forced firefighters to make safe a pub sign which was in danger of blowing over. A crew attended the Oak Inn Guilsfield just after midnight on Friday night to remove the metal sign.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “It was a busy weekend for our crews across the area.”
