It’s become a common fact that we should all be aiming to walk 10,000 steps every single day for a basic level of fitness.

But still, so many of us take the car for travelling short distances which could make a huge difference to our fitness.

Our friends at Great Fitness tell us that with it being the weekend, what better time to change that habit!

“Try walking a few extra steps where you can,” said personal instructor Charlie Proctor. “It might not sound like a lot, but if you live within a few minutes of your gym, or the shops, why not walk there instead? You’ll burn those few extra calories whilst improving your general fitness.

“Fit bits are very popular at the moment, and 10,000 steps a day is a very good target for anybody.”

And there’s an added nutritional tip today: substitute your regular olive oil you cook with, for coconut oil. A healthy fry up springs to mind!
