Two big additions to Air Show line-up

The Bob Jones Memorial Airshow has added two more big attractions to its line-up on June 11.

The air show is expected to welcome thousands of people to the town, and we can expect even more now that the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with an Avro Lancaster and 2 Spitfires has been included.

And if that wasn’t enough, the only De Havilland Sea Vixen left in the world has also been included.

Here’s what you can expect from the two additions

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with an Avro Lancaster and 2 Spitfires:

This is the 60th anniversary year of the BBMF and it is thanks to their efforts in maintaining and manning these iconic aircraft that allows us to witness these examples of aviation history flying in the skies above Welshpool.

The De Havilland Sea Vixen

The phrase “one and only” is actually true in this case as it is the last airworthy Sea Vixen in the world. This iconic twin-boom, twin-turbo jet fighter flew from Royal Navy aircraft carriers in the 1960s and 70s. Its design, cutting edge technology and capability to go transonic helped it to transform the nations’ carrier aviation capability. An aircraft that has impressed since entering service now provides stunning air displays for the eyes and ears.
