Five candidates will contest the Montgomeryshire seat when the county goes to the polls on June 8 but there will be no hustings at Welshpool Town Hall.
The Conservatives have again adopted Glyn Davies to defend the seat and he will again face opposition from Jane Dodds (Liberal/Democrat), Richard Chaloner (Green Party), Aled Morgan Hughes (Plaid) with Iwan Wyn Jones adopted to challenge for Labour.
Welshpool voting will take place at the Town Hall, Gungrog School and the Methodist Church but the Town Council has voted against the customary eve-of-poll Town Hall debating.
With numbers who attend the hustings reducing councillors voted to cut costs and break with tradition.
The Conservatives have been quick to react by booking the Town Hall for their own event when Glyn Davies will provide an opportunity for the public to put their questions to him.
