An award to recognise a Welshpool resident under the age of 25 who has overcome a significant handicap, or has done outstanding work in the community has been announced.
The Rotary Club of Welshpool has established a Young Citizen Award which will be presented at the Welshpool Town Council's award ceremony on June 4.
The award takes the form of a trophy which remains the property of the Club, but a small trophy will be given to the successful candidate.
Nominations are invited now and should be received by Tuesday, May 23. All candidates will be informed as to the result by the end of that week.
“There is no formal application form, but your application letter or email should include the following:
“The name, address, telephone number and email address of the nominator, and of the person being nominated and his/her age, and should include the consent of the nominee and also if under 18 years of a parent or guardian.
“Also, of course, there should be a short reason as to why you are nominating that person.”
The application should be sent via http://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/contact.php?ClubID=1125 or to Roger Brown, 14 Berriew Road, Welshpool, SY21 7SS.
