Introducing the new school heads

Senior staff appointed to Welshpool’s new primary schools will be well known to parents having strong links with existing schools. 

Head and deputy heads have now been appointed for the new English-medium and Welsh-medium schools which will start working in September as part of plans to invest £13m in the town’s primary education. 

The new head of Welshpool Church in Wales Primary School will be Mrs Justine Baldwin, who is the current head at Gungrog Church in Wales nursery and Infants school. Mrs Lorna Tuffin, who is a current teacher at Ysgol Maesydre, has been appointed deputy head (pictured top).

Headteacher of Ysgol Gymraeg Y Trallwng is Mrs Bethan Bleddyn, who is the current headteacher at Ysgol Dyffryn Trannon, Trefeglwys. Miss Laura Jones, who is the current deputy at Ardwyn Nursery and Infants School, is her appointed deputy (pictured bottom).
