The crowd may have been smaller than that of recent years due to our unpredictable weather but nevertheless The Bob Jones Memorial Airshow delivered another memorable edition on Sunday.
Organisers were like Wimbledon umpires on the day, looking up to the skies and hoping the darkening clouds didn’t burst, and unfortunately several displays were put off and failed to materialise.
It seems the usual hordes of air show fans that travel into the town probably stopped across the border in Cosford this year, but those who were in attendance enjoyed a number of other attractions both in the skies as well as at the airfield where the Transport Festival also took place.
“The Air Show was affected by the weather unfortunately,” said Robert Robinson, Town Clerk. “The attendance was down and some displays did not make it, but never mind, onwards and upwards!”
