The heat won’t be on Council’s bills

Welshpool’s tax payers could be forking out less for the town’s heating bill, despite the coldest winter on record.

Early indications show that the winter costs could be as much as £7,000 less than last year after innovative new magnetic technology was used to maximise consumption.

“It may sound strange but we expect our fuel bills to be significantly lower for council-run buildings like the Town Hall,” said Town Clerk Robert Robinson. “We installed a new magnetic system last year which seems to have done the trick.”

Magnetic fuel conditioning for heating and hot water systems claims to reduce fuel and maintenance costs by enabling fuel, oil or gas to burn more efficiently. It does this by heating water up more quickly making radiators hotter and using less fuel. Emissions are also reduced.
