Falkland’s veteran and charity campaigner Simon Weston was a special visitor at a reception hosted by Powys County Council at the Royal Welsh Show.
Simon, who is Patron of the Falklands Veterans Foundation and an active campaigner for a number of charities providing support to the families of ex-servicemen, was at the show to promote charity Cerebra.
Speaking at a civic reception for the Armed Forces, Simon explained how Cerebra is dedicated to helping families with children with brain conditions discover a better life together.
Chairman of Powys County Council, Councillor Dai Davies said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Simon to the Powys building and to hear about the wonderful work of Cerebra.
“Simon’s message is one of triumph over adversity, seizing the moment and making a difference. He’s someone we can all learn from.
“As well as Simon, we hosted lots of guests during the show including many ministers.
“We had a busy week putting on a wide range of activities and receptions where we have actively promoted our services.
“The show has been a great platform for us and we’re proud to launch new projects and highlight future county events here.”
