Sisters Ffion & Seren Lovatt from Welshpool High School have both qualified to represent Wales at the Sainsburys British School Games in Loughborough Aug 31st - Sept 3rd
Go Judo Club from Llandrinio attended the Gemau Cymru British school games qualifier event in Cardiff, the Gold and Silver medalists qualify to represent Wales at the games. Joshua Whitehouse, Ffion Lovatt and Seren Lovatt represented Go Judo.
Sisters Ffion & Seren Lovatt both won Gold Medals in their own categories by displaying some outstanding Judo skills to win all their fights with Ippon throws and securing their place on the Welsh National team, Joshua Whitehouse just fell short of qualification but managed to win a Bronze medal.
Ffion qualified for the Games last year and also won a Bronze medal. Both Girls are members of the Talent Cymru national Judo team and attend 3-day residential training each week during the holidays and they are both currently ranked in the top 10 in Great Britain.
All the players regularly attend training twice a week with coaches Pete & Adam Castell at Go Judo based in Llandrinio Village Hall on Tuesdays and fFriday nights - Juniors 6-7pm, Advanced and Seniors 7-8.30pm.
