Organisers of the annual Battery Conference held in Four Crosses have raised a whopping £12,916.70 for Children In Need.

Northern Industrial Battery Services (NIBS) auctioned off the chance for members to enjoy a rally experience at the famous Sweet Lamb Complex in Llangurig and attendees dug deep to oblige.

The money raised from the auction was added to the proceeds from a recent Charity Bike Ride that they undertook to reach the grand total.

Professor Ian Bitterlin booked the first day for him and his family and another attendee from Germany, Ad Smulders, secured the second day and bought along his colleagues.

“On behalf of NIBS, we wanted to say a huge thank-you to the drivers who were both local - Tim Bevan who is currently competing in the Welsh Clubman Forest Championship, and James Watkins of Rally Marketing Welshpool who was driving the Geoff Jones Motorsport Subaru Impreza,” said a spokesperson.

“Also a huge thank you for all the support from the winners of the rally experience days, without them this huge sum of money wouldn’t have been possible.”
