Council to vote on street parking permit scheme

Residents on three Welshpool streets could be invited to apply for parking permits outside their homes if Welshpool Town Council agrees the scheme on Wednesday night.

A similar scheme has been trialled in Newtown and now the Town Council will ask Powys County Council to expand the scheme to Welshpool.

If the council approves the scheme, which is being proposed by the planning committee, residents on High Street, Mount Street and Cobden Street will be invited to apply for a £60 parking permit.
