Guilsfield memorial concert raises £1k

A concert held in memory of popular Guilsfield character Johnny Morris (right) raised nearly £1k for charity at the weekend.

 

Weeks before his death last month, Johnny had spoken to Guilsfield Vicar the Reverend Roger Bird about hosting a male voice choir at the local church.

 

Unfortunately illness got the better of Johnny after a brave fight against cancer but the village turned out in support to listen to the Ceiriog Valley Male Voice Choir supported by the Four Plus One Singers.

 

“It was a wonderful night and dad would have been proud,” said daughter Donna Morris who added that all monies will go to the Lingen Davies Cancer Relief Scanner Fund at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
