Not again?

For the third time this summer we are reporting that motorists have blocked in fire engines trying to leave the station to attend an emergency.

The town was busy all weekend with Bank Holiday traffic, with cars backed up down Severn Street towards the station most days.

But motorists once again ignored the road markings outside of the Fire Station and caused delays for the fire fighters reacting to an emergency call (pictured).

“Our crews (were) delayed getting the fire appliance out to emergency calls this weekend, please keep the box junction clear,” the lads said on Twitter.

It is believed that the matter will now be discussed at a higher level with the possibility of clearer signage being put in place to avoid future problems.
