It’s a big day in the history of education in Welshpool with a new era of schooling getting underway.
The town’s first Welsh-medium primary school opens following a big shake-up that has resulted in Ardwyn, Grungrog, Oldford and Ysgol Maesydre nursery and infants schools all closing this summer.
The new Welsh school is opening at the current Ysgol Maesydre site (pictured) while the English stream will be taught, for now, across the other school sites while the new English-medium Church in Wales school is being built near Welshpool High School.
On behalf of us all at MyTown Media Ltd, we wish all those returning to school this week the very best of luck!
