Honour for Llanfair NFU man

20/02/2011 @ 10:07

A Mid-Wales man who has worked tirelessly for NFU Cymru members in the region has been recognised for his sterling efforts.

At the prestigious NFU annual awards earlier this month, Wyn Jenkins, NFU Cymru Group secretary at Llanfair Caereinion, Powys, was presented with the NFU high achiever award for Wales and thanked for all of his hard work. The annual award is given to an NFU Cymru Group Secretary for their outstanding achievement in membership retention and recruitment.

On being presented the award by NFU President Peter Kendall and NFU Director General Kevin Roberts, Mr Jenkins said, “It came as a bolt from the blue. The results are of course down to the hard work of the excellent team at our Llanfair Caereinion office and old and new clients putting their trust in NFU Cymru to provide a great service.

“For 29 years it has been a great honour to work for NFU Cymru and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself over the years - you couldn’t do it without that.”

Gwen Davies, Business Development Manager for NFU Cymru said, “This award is well deserved and we would like to thank Wyn for his outstanding services to NFU Cymru members.

“All of our group secretaries here in Wales do an excellent job representing our existing members and also recruiting new members. However during the last membership year, Wyn finished top of the membership chart throughout the whole of Wales.

“I would like to congratulate Wyn on this fantastic achievement, a real testament to his dedication and commitment and to the work of the team at the Llanfair Caereinion NFU Cymru office.

“The award was made even more special as come June this year Wyn reaches a very significant milestone when he will have completed 30 years service with NFU Cymru.”
