Police appeal after cyclist seriously injured

16/10/2017 @ 04:18

A cyclist was flown to hospital where he is said to be in a serious but stable condition after what appears an incident on a country road.

The episode is believed to have happened at lunch time last Thursday on an unclassified road between Llanwddyn and Llwydiarth, north of Llanfair Caereinion.

Police have described it as a ‘road traffic collision’ but told us that they are not treating it as a hit and run.

A spokesperson said: “A cyclist, travelling on the road, has come off his bike and sustained what is believed to be serious injuries. He was taken to hospital by Helimed where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

“This isn’t being treated as a hit and run. There is no evidence to suggest the cyclist was hit by another vehicle but we are appealing for witnesses to what happened.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who has information which could help the investigation, is asked to contact the Mid Wales Roads Policing Unit on 101.
