A fed up Welshpool Town Council said that it is battling the re-emergence of a fly tipping hot spot on several fronts this week.
A sofa, which originally appeared outside M&Co found its way to the popular dumping ground outside the former Berriew Street butchers on The Cross, slap bang in the centre of town. It follows another one that was dumped there last week.
The spot has hit the headlines before with sofas and even an unwanted fridge freezer being left there by inconsiderate residents.
It is then left to the Town Council’s street team to clear up the mess, but patience is wearing thin.
MyWelshpool understands that a meeting is being held today (Wednesday) between the town clerk and the building’s owner, businessman Mr. John Langford to address the issue.
“We have CCTV covering the area which is being looked at and Powys (County Council) will also be asked to see what they can do,” said a town council insider.
Anger has grown on social media with community Facebook site, Welshpool Melting Pot, having to remove a post this week due to some comments being deemed offensive.
