Bonfire call-outs precautionary

Bonfire night passed relatively trouble free in the area, although the lads from Welshpool Fire Station were called out twice.

Calls were made by concerned members of the public who thought two fires, one near the A483 between Welshpool and Newtown, and a second close to Forden, were unattended but on arrival all was well.

Welshpool put on a fantastic fireworks display on Saturday night which was attended by a huge crowd, while last night’s traditional bonfire night fire and fireworks attracted another big crowd in Guilsfield.
