Fire fighters tackle Dynacast blaze

Fire fighters from Welshpool, Montgomery, Llanfyllin, Newtown and Oswestry tackled a blaze at the premises of Dynacast UK this morning.

Thankfully, everyone was evacuated from the 32,000 square metre facility on the Offa’s Dyke Business Park at Buttington before the emergency services arrived.

The call was received at 9.55am and a total of six pumps were on site. It is believed the fire started in the basement of the premises but was soon brought under control with the fire fighters sent back to their stations shortly after 11am.

On its web site, Dynacast UK says that it “helps world-leading organisations turn their most ideas into the highest quality precision metal components. We specialise in zinc pressure die casting and offer a vast range of metal finishing options". 

The facility is the largest zinc pressure die caster in the UK.
