With winter fast approaching, the last few weeks have provided some difficult and testing playing conditions at Lakeside, but this has not stopped some great golf being played.

The last Majors of the summer were won by Marius Van Lill, who won the Long John Salver, and Vojka Turner who won the Ladies Championship called the Elaine Willets Bowl.

Joe Davies claimed the Summer League Gross and Net titles and a nine-hole charity three-club challenge was won by Jeff Down.

An October Pairs Foursome was well won by father and son pair, Dai and George Davies, with 42 points. In second were Alan Forward and John Rix with 40 and Mark Wells and David Hedge with 37 in third.

An Autumn Pairs Cup was won by Alan Brown and Pete Philpott, with Brendan Weaver and Andrew Macdonald in second and John and Jane Rix in third.

A Stableford competition was held in early November and Kevin Lloyd came out on top in Division One with Joe Davies in second and Pete Coleby in third. Division Two was won by Steve Owen, with John Stansfield in second and Pete Philpott in third.

The Winter League is now well under way with week one being won by Alan Davies, week two by Jo Lawson and week three by Alan Brown. Week four was won by Steve Hunt and five was won again by the in-form Brown. Week six saw John Stansfield come out on top and week seven was won by Danny Miles.

Jo Lawson, John Rix and John Taylor all currently sit level at the top of the Net Winter League on 105 points, with Marius Van Lill and Joe Davies tied at the top of the Gross Winter League.
