Severn Trent ‘cleaning the pipes’

Welshpool residents could encounter some minor disruptions to their water supply in December as Severn Trent carries out work to clean our water.

Several areas of the town have reported discoloured water which, although safe, is caused by a build-up of sediment on the inside of water pipes.

Contractors PN Daly will be carrying out work from December 6-14 and hope to contain the loss of supply to certain night times only.

“To further reduce the likelihood of discoloured water we are carrying out a programme of work to clean our water pipes,” said Severn Trent. “It is essential to improve the quality and reliability of water supply in the area.”
