Big high street brands are like London buses in Welshpool, nothing for ages and then two come at once… or in fact make that three!
Card Factory opened earlier this month on the retail park and Specsavers has announced that its Welshpool venture will open in the New Year with a £350,000 investment in the town.
Costa Coffee will complete a hat-trick when it takes over the current Pinewood café site after the Festive Period.
Supersavers will create four new jobs and says the money is being spent on “the latest in optical and audiology technology”.
Anticipated to open for business in the first week of January, the 1,500 square foot unit will house three test rooms, including a soundproof room for its audiology customers.
“There has been a demand for a Welshpool store for some time now,” said Optometrist David Dunlop (pictured), who opened his first Specsavers store in Newtown 11 years ago.
“We have a loyal customer base who have travelled to the Newtown store for our services, so it will be great to be able to serve them, and our new customers, on their home turf.
“We’re a community-focussed business that prides itself on delivering the highest professional standards and look forward to welcoming members of the Welshpool community into our store when we open in a few weeks’ time.”
The Specsavers store will be open six days a week and will house more than 1,000 frames, including brands such as Cath Kidson, Kylie Minogue, Converse and Superdry.
