Montgomery house devastated by fire

A large house on Kerry Road, Montgomery was ravaged by fire on Saturday night as fire fighters used breathing apparatus to bring it under control.

 

The fire is believed to have started at around 5.15pm and was extinguished by 7.36pm, leaving the majority of the upper areas of the three-storey property ravaged.

 

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “Montgomery fire fighters were joined by two appliances from Welshpool and as a result of the fire about 50 per cent of the roof spacing was damaged.”
