‘Was it really worth it?’

Two town centre hair dressers have been counting the cost of an unwelcome visitor overnight who smashed their way in to pinch cash.

Less than £60 was stolen in the raids, but the cost to Reflections and Chris’s Hairlines included having to cancel Saturday appointments as well as the physical damage left behind.

“We arrived to a lot of damage from the broken window which was double glazed,” said Julie Prince, from Reflections. “We only had float money on the premises which is hardly anything so you have to ask was it really worth it? Unfortunately, we had to cancel our morning appointments and would like to apologise to our customers who were booked in. But the place was covered in glass so we were left with no choice.”

Police said that the thief accessed both premises by climbing walls and then smashing through windows for access.
