Chip shop blaze

Firefighters from four stations have been out this afternoon tackling a blaze at the chippy in Llanfair Caereinion.

The fire is believed to have started shortly before 4.30pm and crews from Llanfair, Montgomery, Llanfyllin and Welshpool have been in attendance.

Fire fighters using breathing apparatus and thermal imaging equipment extinguished the fire, but there is heavy smoke damage inside the property. 

There are no reports of casualties.
