CCTV for Maesydre fields

Councillors will consider the cost of extending the town’s CCTV coverage to Maesydre following reports of increased anti-social behaviour in the area.

Youngsters congregating in the football stand have been blamed for broken glass being littered on the football pitch and an increase in litter.

The council mooted the option of grills to stop people using the stand out of activity periods, but it was considered that this would only move the problem to other parts of the area.

The Town Clerk is to seek a quote for CCTV to be fitted and it has also been noted that two new bins are being installed.

Full council will vote on the decision on February 28.
