Discussions are progressing for a new pedestrian bridge over the canal that will link Little Henfaes with Salop Road.
The bridge would cut down the access time for walkers into the town centre, but there is a long way to go with a number of issues needing to be addressed.
The bridge is expected to be similar to the one that straddles the canal opposite the Oldford turning and would come out near to the former WR Davies site. However, discussions would need to be held with the relevant land owner(s).
The Town Council, keen to move the project forward, are expected to carry out a consultation with local residents to determine the best location.
