Open day for private landlords and tenants

Private landlords and tenants living in private rental accommodation in the Welshpool area are being urged to attend open day taking place in Wrexham next week.

Powys County Council’s Private Sector Housing Team is supporting an information event for private sector landlords and tenants which is taking place at the Glyndwr’s Catrin Finch Centre, Wrexham on Tuesday from 1.30pm to 6pm.

The open day will provide an opportunity for landlords, tenants and others who have an interest in the private rented sector to meet and network together.  Information and presentations will be held by speakers with knowledge and experience of the private rented sector.

A spokesperson for Powys County Council said: "If you are a landlord or a tenant living in private rental accommodation, then this open day is for you.”

The discussion topics that are taking place from 2pm are:

- 2pm – Smart water: ‘Deterrence through Forensic Science’

- 3pm – Steve Simpson NLA Mortgages: ‘A Bright Future for Buy-to-Let’

- 3.30pm – Julie Woolfenden NLA: ‘Renting and Letting - Getting off to a good start for both Landlord and Tenant’

- 4pm – Rents Office: 'Housing Benefit Changes from April 2011’

- 5pm – Fire Service: advice on home safety
