Water problems again for town tonight

It’s becoming a regular occurrence this year with Severn Trent engineers again fixing a burst water pipe in Welshpool tonight.

Hundreds of houses have been hit in the north of the town for the fourth time in two weeks, with concerns mounting that the town’s ailing pipes system is at breaking point.

Severn Trent confirmed tonight that a burst main is to blame, but hoped that all water will be restored by midnight.

“We are working hard to restore supplies as soon as possible,” a spokesperson told us tonight.

Once the water is restored, hopefully later on tonight, it may be discoloured with the advice to run the cold water tap for some time to clear it up.
