Window smasher comes clean

Police say the person responsible for smashing a huge town centre window has owned up.

Although no name has been released, the person responsible has been issued with a ‘Behave or Be Banned’ order which prevents them from entering licensed premises in the town.

A spokesperson at the police station told us that the guilty party handed themselves in after they were witnessed carrying out the incident at the former Rowlands Chemist building close to The Cross (pictured).

It was one of a number of incidents that happened over the space of a week, but it is not known if this incident was connected to the others.
