Llanfair Caereinon Primary School is celebrating after Estyn Inspectors rated the school as ‘good’ in all areas, following a recent inspection.
The school’s ethos, leadership, teaching, high standards and behaviour of pupils were all praised by Her Majesty’s Inspectors.
The report states that the school benefits from a strong leadership team led by the Head Teacher and governing body. Inspectors noted that an inclusive, caring ethos pervades through all aspects of school life, and highlights the very good behaviour of pupils.
Teachers were praised for being highly committed and enthusiastic, working as a close team to ensure all pupils reach their full potential, as well as developing pride in their school and community.
They were praised for planning interesting and stimulating activities, which capture pupils’ interest. The Inspectors also noted that pupils who have special educational needs are well supported by all staff.
The report goes on to state that care is taken to ensure that pupils in both the English and Welsh stream receive the same opportunities and experiences.
Ann Watkin-Jones, Chair of Governors, said: “We welcome the findings of such a positive report and are delighted that pupils’ high standards were recognised as well as the hard work of our Head Teacher, Miss Peate and all the staff.”
“We are also particularly grateful for the support of parents, and the wider community to our School and thank all parents for the positive responses to the questions during the inspection.”
