Campaigners hoping to block plans for the first ‘Super Dairy’ in Wales are holding an emergency meeting tonight (Tuesday).
The Campaign Against Leighton Farm expansion (CALFe) meet at 7pm in Leighton Village Hall to discuss the new application made by local young farmer Fraser Jones, which has taken into account comments made by the original objectors.
Campaigner Holly Dyer said: “We are in a 42-day consultation period that was due to end towards the end of March but it has now been set at April 14.”
Mr Jones has vowed to press on with his plans insisting that current methods of dairy farming are simply not sustainable and would put farmers like him out of business.
A spokesperson for Powys County Council told mywelshpool: “Mr Jones was advised to withdraw his initial application and re-submit because of fundamental changes.”
