Horror hole patched up

A piece of road under construction close to Welshpool’s traveller camp that caused chaos this morning has now been patched up.

The huge hole (pictured) was made by contractors working in the area, and it caused drivers to take evasive action and swerve into oncoming traffic during the morning rush hour.

Luckily there were no accidents but Powys County Council says that there were warning signs in place.

“The patching work started this morning and that section has already been completed,” a spokesperson told us this afternoon. “Warning road signs including ramp signs were out to warn drivers of the roadworks.”
