Male or Female Assistant Support Manager - Welshpool    

Full-time role - 38 hours per week

Applicants must be 18+ for personal care.

Salary range: £18,082 - £19,382

Perthyn has a strong record of delivering high quality supported living services for adults with learning disabilities. We are a not-for-profit registered charity firmly established in the East Midlands, Wales and Shropshire.

If you are enthusiastic and passionate about providing high quality support to people with learning disabilities and are looking for a new challenge, we want to hear from you.

Reporting to and working with the Community Support Manager you will be responsible for the effective delivery of person centred services and the day to day management and development of a team of Support Workers.

Primary responsibilities include coaching and developing team members, rota management and deployment of resources within set budgets and enabling staff to support individuals to exercise choices and make decisions following the principles of the Mental Capacity Act.

You will be an experienced Support Worker as you will be required to undertake the full range of support duties and act as a positive role model for achieving high standards of support. You will also be an effective communicator, able to develop strong working relationships and able to promote and create a person centred culture within the team.

Previous experience of working with people with behaviour support needs and joint working with families and professionals would be beneficial. Holding a QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification or a commitment to achieving this in 12 months is essential.

You must be able to work flexibly across a range of shift patterns including nights, evenings and weekends and be able to travel between services when required. Holding a full UK driving licence would be advantageous as there may be the requirement to drive the cars belonging to the people we support.
