After receiving complaints from residents over the advertising ‘A Boards’ on the streets of Welshpool, the Town Council said it will discuss with the local police force.

The boards, which are positioned on the pavement, are popular for raising awareness of services provided by local companies, particularly for those situated down the side alleys.

But they have increased in number over recent months, and so have the complaints.

The issue of A Boards on the main streets has been raised with times when it is difficult to move past them, particularly for those who are visually impaired,” said a Town Council spokesperson.

“A discussion took place around what actions could be taken. It was agreed that the Town Clerk should ask the Police PCSO’s to remind offending retailers to be considerate when putting A Boards out.”
