Merger goes through

The merger of two of Mid Wales and Shropshire’s leading estate agents and agricultural sales specialists has completed with staff from both companies joining forces at local offices in the area.

Staff from existing Norman Lloyd offices at Newtown, Welshpool and Llanidloes have relocated to the Morris, Marshall and Poole offices in the towns in the past two weeks, while the Bishop’s Castle office becomes part of the new merged company.

Specialist rural and agricultural teams have joined forces at Welshpool Livestock Sales site at Buttington Cross, where a new hub has been set up dealing with agricultural, land and rural sales, valuations and planning, including the livestock mart which is one of the largest in the UK.

“We’re pleased with the way the merger has gone over the past few weeks. The transition of staff between the offices and the teams has gone well with no effect on clients,” said David Jones, a partner at MMP/NL.

“We are now one of the largest estate agents and property surveyors in the area, covering Powys, Ceredigion, Shropshire and Gwynedd from local offices throughout the area.

“Unlike solely online estate agents, our teams are from and based locally at high street offices in key towns, understand the market and are on hand to handle client enquiries at all times, whether a phone call or visit away. With a no sale, no fee policy on our residential sales, we believe we offer the best service possible and the new, enlarged company will only add to that.”

This year MMP/NL opened a dedicated lettings office at Back Lane in Newtown where it lets and manages a portfolio of nearly 1,000 properties. It also opened a new office in Rhayader last year.

The company now employs 60 staff throughout the area, providing professional residential and commercial property sales, lettings and valuations, as well as agricultural services and surveying.

Its offices are at Newtown, Llanidoes, Welshpool, Rhayader, Aberystywyth, Machynlleth, Oswestry, Tywyn, Bishop’s Castle and a showroom at Aberdyfi.
