Police threaten fines, points for bad school parkers

Parents and guardians who continue to create problems through their reckless parking will be fined £100 and issued with three points, police have warned.

The issue has come to a head with a spate of problems and near misses caused at schools across the area by cars parking on zigzag lines.

Recently, police have observed several schools, including Arddleen, Guilsfield, and Maesydre at peak times, but the complaints continue resulting in the new no-nonsense approach.

Following a spate of complaints from Llanfair Caereinion, Llanfyllin Police stated: “If vehicles are seen parked on the zigzag lines, they will receive three points and £100 fine.

“Please consider the children’s safety. The approach to, and exit from, a pedestrian crossing is marked with zigzag lines. It also means that you must not park on them.”
