An insight into what happens to our old fire engines will be delivered during the monthly Welshpool & District U3A meeting on Tuesday.
Taking place at the COWSHACC from 9.45am, Steve Worrall will talk about Operation Sabre, a charitable organisation run by retired and currently working fire fighters in Shropshire, Wales, Manchester and Merseyside.
They repair and then donate and deliver Fire Engines to Transylvania and take along tons of humanitarian aid.
At the group’s May meeting, Maryke Stansfield spoke on the spice journey, an explanation of how they arrived in Europe, of the spices involved and their uses. Many members went home with new ideas of how spices are used both in the kitchen and in pharmacy.
Visitors are always very welcome to come along and find out what the U3A is all about.
