Welshpool to remember Grenfell

Welshpool will pay an official tribute tonight (Thursday) to those who lost their lives in the horrific Grenfell Tower tragedy last year.

The Town Hall is due to be lit up in green, in line with the colour being used to mark one year since the fire that claimed the lives of 72 people.

The fire is believed to have started accidentally by a malfunctioning fridge-freezer on the fourth floor. It’s rapid spread has been blamed on the building’s exterior cladding.
