Overgrown churchyards have been a big talking point in Welshpool this summer, but one town has taken the matter into its own hands with a clean-up.
Friends of St Myllin's Church in Llanfyllin got to work last week and the end results were stunning with it being so well supported that the churchyard was transformed in the space of just a morning.
Richard Kretchmer, who organised the clean-up, said: “The Friends of St Myllin’s are very grateful to everyone who helped: Andy Green, John Swannick, David Price, Glyn Evans, Myra Price, Lynette Kretchmer, Decia Blacker and my fellow Trustees of the Friends of St Myllin’s namely Ruth Weston, John Eddy, Keith Blacker and Simon Baynes.
“The benefits of this hard work were greatly appreciated on the following Saturday when St Myllin’s Day was held in Llanfyllin with stall holders and visitors praising the tidy churchyard.”
