The town’s busy summer of events sees another highlight this Saturday evening with a big concert at Powis Castle to raise money for a vital facility at Welshpool Hospital.
Tickets are available for the The Powis Castle Garden Concert which will feature a number of excellent local performers who are giving their time for free.
Money raised from the evening will go towards the ‘Family Room’ at the town’s hospital, and the event is being run in conjunction with the hospital’s League of Friends. The room enables family to stay with their sick relatives.
“Picnics, chairs, tables, rugs etc can be brought to the garden, but Lady Violet’s Tea Room will be open for light refreshments as well as burgers and hot dogs available for purchase,” an event spokesperson told us.
The Welshpool High School Jazz Band, Llanfair Caereinion High School Ensemble, John Hughes the Singing Farmer, Reed Between the Lines and the Buttington Musical Theatre Company are among the performers already confirmed for the evening which runs from 6.30pm-9pm.
Tickets are priced at £10 per person or £25 for a family of two adults and two children. Children under five are free. They are available from Sue on 01686 650951. You can also pay on the gate.
