A Llanfyllin man who was jailed for nearly four years for his part in a 2015 armed robbery is on the run.

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for information that could assist in locating 26-year-old James Lee Wilkinson (pictured), who has strong links to the Welshpool area. He is wanted on recall to prison.

Wilkinson was one of two men that held up the Esso garage at Rhostyllen, near Wrexham, on September 11, 2015, and was jailed for three years and nine months. At his trial, it was disclosed that he had previous convictions for 23 offences and he didn't give up his accomplice.

The offence took place in the early hours when Wilkinson acted as a customer while his accomplice appeared and threatened the employee with a claw hammer.

They made off with cash and cigarettes, but Wilkinson was later caught due to his finger prints being found on a drink's can.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact police by calling 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
