Some ‘short’ relief

06/07/2018 @ 09:34

After weeks of sweltering temperatures, Welshpool High School has agreed to allow its pupils to wear shorts.

Many parents have been calling for the school to loosen its uniform regulations as we continue to enjoy a glorious summer of sunshine.

And, yesterday afternoon, the school agreed by announcing on Twitter that for the last two weeks of term, students will not have to wear a blazer, jumper or tie. They also stated that they can wear shorts providing that they are “loose fitting, thigh length shorts, and should be dark in colour”.

The move comes a fortnight after Llanfyllin High School announced its pupils could attend school in their PE uniform shorts and trainers.

There seems no let up to the hot weather. The rain we were promised this week was nothing more than a dribble and the next week’s forecast is for more sunshine.
