Overhead line fault caused outage

A line fault has been blamed for cutting electricity to large parts of the town today.

Several businesses on the industrial estates, and even Powis Castle, saw power cut for long periods today with hundreds of houses also hit.

It appears to be business as usual tonight though, but a statement from the energy providers explained that there was “a fault on our overhead line network affecting a significant number of properties in the Welshpool area”.
