High School’s almost 100% pass rate

Welshpool High School has this morning reported a near 100% pass rate for its A-levels, with 70% of pupils achieving at least one A* or A grade or equivalent.

No fewer than seven pupils achieved three or more A* or A grades, with one picking up an incredible five.

“Our thanks to all the staff who have helped our students achieve these tremendous results and we wish all our students further success in the future,” said Daryl Phillips Assistant Headteacher.

Sam Dyer achieved the impressive five A levels at A*/A grade and will go on to study Medicine, while Izzy Harris will also study Medicine having achieved 3 A*/ A grades plus an A grade at AS level.

Other very good performances included Megan Davies (two Distinction *, an A and a B), Rebekah Jones (an A*, and two A grades) who goes on to study Radiotherapy, and Sara Lloyd (two Distinction *, an A and a B grade).

Jack Foulkes achieved an A* and two A grades while Dominic Richards gained two Distinction*, an A grade and a C.
